7s Program

In 2018 UQ has entered  Men’s and Women’s teams in a number of tournaments around Brisbane, South East Queensland and New South Wales.

The Men’s program is spear headed by former Australia 7’s player Andrew Brown and the Women’s team is run by Reg Tayler. The coaches together with the help of the devoted manager Craig Winship put together a program that is professional, educational and enjoyable.

UQ has had a great record of 7s players representing their country on the World Sevens Series circuit including a number of internationals in recent years:

  • Aussie 7s – Jonno Lance, Luke Morahan, Tevita Kuridrani, Con Foley, Nick Malouf, Conor Mitchell and Tate McDermott
  • Welsh 7s – Joseph Jenkins

The program also produced a number of Queensland representatives at the 2017 National Championship:

  • 2017 Queensland Men – Tom Pincus, Jack Curtin, Joe Pincus, Connor Clancy, Wyatt Setu, Clifton Setu, Jock Campbell, Tom Harvey, Sam Wallis
  • 2017 Queensland Women – Erica Fowler, Katie Curtis, Lori Cramer, Elizabeth De Lange

The program has gone to the next level with some fantastic results in the 2017/18 Season for both the men and women.
