UQ Rugby Charity Round Jersey worn by Womens Team.
Charity Round is an annual event in which UQ Rugby chooses a charity to raise funds through the sponsorship of playing jerseys and an online jersey auction. Each 1st Grade and Women’s jersey is sponsored by a different business and these jerseys are then auctioned off with all proceeds going to the chosen charity. Past charities include Legacy, Lifeline and the Modified Rugby Program – raising over $20,000 collectively. Last year the benefactor was White Cloud Foundation.
This season our chosen charity is the Buildcorp Foundation.
Buildcorp Foundation is on a mission to support good mental health and help put an end to suicide. Established in 2014, the Buildcorp Foundation is committed to raising funds to help tackle Australia’s mental health crisis. Over the years, the Foundation has raised over $5.7M million and funded initiatives from Lifeline Australia and the NSW Department of Education, targeted at improving the mental health outcomes for all Australians.
Buildcorp Foundation is a purpose built independent charitable structure with full DGR status and 0% staff costs. The Foundation partners with government and business to jointly fund large initiatives. A donation to the Foundation enables donors to contribute to a bigger and wider impact, not just for those in crisis who need it most, but also for a mentally healthy and resilient generation of tomorrow. By tackling this from both sides, we can work together to put an end to suicide.
