HALLEY APPLEBY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Although UQRFC is located on a university campus and is affiliated with the University of Queensland, we are welcoming to all players, student or not. The Halley Appleby Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an apprentice of the club that best embodies the attitude of fallen Red Heavy, Halley Appleby.
Halley tragically passed away following a match in 2011 against GPS. Halley was a budding young tradesman who made up the lifeblood of the club – he epitomised what it was to be a good person and a great Red Heavy.
The Halley Appleby Memorial Scholarship is valued at $3,000 and is presented at the Halley Appleby Memorial event each year to help the recipient to purchase tools and anything else required of an apprentice.
If you wish to apply for the Halley Appleby Memorial Scholarship please email jason@uqrugbyclub.com.
